published writing Fiction Poetry Other Creative Work Fiction I began writing fiction in my early twenties, but stopped for a number of years to focus on building my business. Other Creative Work In addition to fiction and poetry, I've explored other creative areas, including screenwriting and photography. PhotographyNon/fictioN exhibit on books in architecture, Moscow Book Fair, 2012. A photo I’d posted publicly on Flickr was solicited for use as part of a book fair exhibition in Moscow. It was included as part of a poster series outside the conference hall.Screenwriting: Awards/RecognitionWAY DOWN ISLAND is an inter-generational family drama set in Martha’s Vineyard (think LONE STAR, but about an isolated female artist instead of a sheriff). In combination with one of my unpublished short stories, it was a Semi-finalist in the Chesterfield Film Company Writer’s Film Project fellowship competition. (Unproduced)DEERS! is a broadly comedic eco-horror comedy in the vein of classic 1970s and 80s, Roger Corman-style drive-in flicks (PIRANHA!, FROGS, SLUGS). It was a second rounder in the Austin Film Festival screenwriting competition (sci-fi and adult/family categories) and finished in the Top 10% of the Nicholl Fellowship screenwriting competition. (Unproduced)SIMI VALLEY was co-authored with two writing partners, Dominic Mah and Jennifer Phang (ADVANTAGEOUS). It’s a one-hour dramedy TV pilot about suburban porn actors trying to “go indie” while keeping their career secret from their teen children. It was the Winner of the ATalent Scout Management original pilot TV writing competition. (Unproduced)Short Films“The Demon Doily” – short film, < $500 budget (over 5,700 views on YouTube; 91% Funny on FunnyOrDie.com). Sequel script and feature-length script available. I can’t shake this notion that all those sweet little doilies at vintage stores and flea markets are somehow demonic. The feature-length script is a comedic/supernatural take on romance, “women’s work,” and the hidden power of crochet circles. To learn more about my writing or to request creative work, contact me via the form below.
